Kayla Hardimon is a 20-year-old Junior at Ohio University, majoring in Broadcast Journalism with a focus in Political Science. Ms. Hardimon prides herself on being very active on Ohio University’s campus. As Miss Black USA Kayla would raise awareness and support for projects such as The Girl Effect and Black Girls Rock. Ms. Hardimon’s goal is for no young woman to ever wonder if she’s beautiful, to ever question her worth or her intelligence.
Dominique Jackson is a 17-year-old senior at Fort Hayes Arts and Academic High School in Columbus, Ohio. In the past, she has worked to raise money for breast cancer research and brought to light the issue of poverty to the Fort Hayes student body. In 2010, she was honored as the “Volunteer of the Year” from Youth to Youth International, a community-based drug prevention and youth leadership program founded in 1982, focusing primarily on middle school and high school students.
